Hi

What should you look for in a quality PVC window

1.) 70mm profile
2.) A rated thermal glass - argon filled with ion glass and thermal spacer
3.) 28mm glass units
4.) Not recycled PVC

anything else?

70mm profile & 28mm glass units is pretty much standard, what you need to be looking at is the profile quality (I have Rahau) & quality of the hardware used e.g. handles, hinges, multi point locks, anti pry devices etc. Probably the most important of all is the quality of installation, even the very best windows can be ruined by poor installation.

Also be aware that installing replacement windows & doors is notifyable building work unless you use a FENSA or Certas registered installer.

Thanks

What about Veka windows any good? And should you ask them what U value the window will be?
