How to Clean Up This Pine

The wooden rack in my airing cupboard is 20 years old. It has now started to show some signs of black mould.

What is the best way to clean this off please?

Flip the timber and get another 20 years?

It doesn't look that bad though.

I hadn't thought of that tbh. I will investigate the viability, though I think it might be glued together, so non-trivial.
Not bad at the moment, but I doubt it will get better. I don't want to reach a point where it starts transferring onto the clothes

I would be surprised to find that the wood is glued. Try a section.

From the image, I cannot tell if the wood has been treated or not. Typically, in my limited experience, they are not, but my experience is not definitive.

In the short term, perhaps wipe the wood with bleach, that said, I cannot see what you see. I do not see why an airing cupboard would suddenly be prone to moisture issues. And, I still cannot see any black marks.

Then, that's why you have mould stained timber.

Cillit Bang mould remover is good.

If that doesn't work, then sand it down, and then either varnish it or paint it.
