How to detach dimmer module from plate?

Hi all

An LED dimmer with a chrome plate has broken - it no longer clicks or turns on the light when you push the switch in.

I'm assuming I need to replace the black dimmer module, as shown in the pic below, but I'm unsure how to detach it from the chrome plate at the moment. It looks like it could simply unscrew from the plate by rotating it, but the screw holes are obstructing it so it can't be turned by more than 45 degrees or so.

Any advice on how to achieve this welcome. Or do I need to buy a whole new plate as well?

Also the brown switch line going to L1 has a small nick in it...cut it back and re terminate it. Dont forget to put an earth fly lead to the switch faceplate
 
Before you replace it, mark each of those brown wires so you know which is which, take a photo of the markings and positions. (or make some detailed notes).
