Hi, we have a raised patio leading from the house down to the garden. It is some 5 feet high and the steps cut into the patio area. We want to fill these steps in as they effectively cut the patio area in half. Once we then have this complete we will build new steps sideways onto the front edge of the patio.
My question relates to building up the current steps to be flush with the patio floor level. Would it be ok to build up the front edge from the garden floor to the top of the patio with breeze blocks then back fill with stone.
Would I also need to put in some sort of foundation under the existing steps to support the greater weight that will be on top.
