Hi all,

My IKEA bedroom wardrobe cupboard door for some reason now no longer closes. Stays open about by 1 inch.

I've had the door off, back on, possessed and tightened the all screws and makes no difference. Anything.anyone can suggest or even if theres some kind of part I can add to the door to make to close?

The main holes were already predrilled into the cupboard.

Any help appreciated.

Yes probably the weight distorting thing, probably a slim spacer under one corner or similar would get things back to square, try grabbing the carcass with two hands and try and twist it slightly in various ways to see if the door closes to try and work out where you need to fit a spacer.

Here's an idea since your ok removing hinges, swap them with two off another door, that way you can isolate whether hinges are worn or whether it's the carcass

Did you read the previous replies?

Distortion of the carcass seems the most likely. Try inserting wedges under the base first. Then try swapping the cup part of the hinge with one from another door (as suggested).

You mentioned tightening the screws. One of the screws moves the hinge side of the door back and forth, another changes the tilt of the door. On the cruciform (the bit attached to the frame) the two screws will let you move the hinge up or down.

The following might show you how to adjust the hinges. I am posting the first google result. I haven't watched it.
