Hi - a simple question for you experts if you don't mind?

I have a Hansgrohe tap that has become very stiff to operate. I am assuming that the 'cartridge' inside has become scaled up maybe? I have removed the lever and am now faced with getting the 'rounded shroud' off to get access to the tap internals.

Am I correct in thinking that I need a strap wrench to get the rounded bit off and then I can attack it with a spanner to remover the securing nut? Many thanks

1. Rubber strap wrench ("Boa") is best.
2. As a first step you could try:
2a. Pouring very hot (NOT boiling) water over the shroud.
2b. Trying to take it off with a rubber glove.
3. Looks as if there is a large hexagonal brass nut visible with shroud removed, which should come off with right spanner.

Many thanks for your reply - I'll give that a go!
