Hi

Does anybody know what is the best way to remove Polyfilla from a wall. I tried to cover a large area with polyfilla but it looks really bad, and now I'm not sure how I can get rid of it, other than sanding the whole area. Needless to say it has set hard as I did this bad job a couple of weeks back.I want to get rid of the filler and try again with plaster.

Many thanks for any help

John

Apart from sanding down, that's it. Get the sander out, put a mask on, and give it a go.... or,, you could get it skimmed if it's that bad. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the advice. I thought I would have to sand it. I'm not sure what you mean by having it skimmed though.

If the surface of your wall was too bad, and there was a lot of repairs/filling to be done, you can get the wall "skimmed" by a plasterer. This would involve checking that the old surface is sound and clean,, putting on a bonding agent (pva), and then plastering/skimming the wall/s with 2 coats of smooth finishing plaster, ready to paint once it has dried out.
