How to solve leaking bathroom tap?

Spoke to a plumber who said he could fix the drip from tap and shower head (both are connected to same tap) by bringing a few different spindles and one of them will work £70.00, does this seem right?
But another plumber says that would not be enough as it would also need new cartridges.
