How to wire my downlights

Hi guys just wanted to ask you advice on the best way to wire my downlights

1. Existing set up
2. Potential set up with 4 way junction box to replace existing light and then wire going to each light
3. Take the existing light and wire each one as I go

Also guys I have access to the loft is it better to drill through the joists and wire them or run them along the joist as loft is not used,

Yes, you can wire them as 2 or 3.
Cables should be clipped to something and not left just thrown around the place even if the loft is not used. It may be in the future.
How is the existing light connected?
