Howdens HJA8630 dishwasher not filling

Hi,
This dishwasher is 8 years old and starts up as if its working ok but no water. Could this be the inlet valve or a sticking float switch? Which is more likely considering water appears to be getting to the machine ie no hose blockage.

Can I test the float switch other than exposing the switch underneath ie by locating it inside the machine and listening for the relay to click??
