How's your luck with Premium Bonds?

I've had Premium Bonds since the day I was born and, I've never had a light from them.

I'm guessing not very many.

If you had 1 bond, and the prize rate was 1% per year, and the minimum prize was £10, your chances would be negligible.

If you had a thousand, you might notionally hope for £10 in an average year. But the minimum prize is £25.

With random chance, maybe you'll win a million. But you almost certainty won't.

BTW, check that they have your current address.

"UK inflation slows to 10.7% in November
Rate eases from October’s 41-year high thanks to lower petrol prices"

So with a 3% prize fund, bondholders will only lose 7.7% in real terms.

Maybe not on the day I was born but, they have been added to over the years and now, I would say that I had a not insubstantial amount.
And, I still have the bonds that were bought for me when I was born.

Your presuming that everyone wins and consistently, clearly not the case

Bondholders as a whole will lose, because the prize fund is substantially below the rate of inflation.
