How's your luck with Premium Bonds?

What do winning percentages work out at year on year? There are a few instant access accounts at the moment with around 4% interest, just curious whether she'll see £400+ in "winnings" over the year?

It makes less sense for her as a 40% tax payer vs me. But it's just for fun.

£100 for me and £50 for Mrs Mottie this month and we are out of PB's for a while. PB money along with workshop sale proceeds are going into monthly interest paying savings accounts, as will the proceeds of my mums house sale when it goes through, all in Mrs Motties name as having chucked in her nhs job and currently too young for NHS and state pension, she has a handy tax free allowance that we can use to avoid paying a fair chunk of tax on the interest.

maybe stick 5k in some bonds via a fund, to leverage her dividend allowance. 10k each should mean 1K tax free.

someone on this site might come along and argue Bonds don't pay dividends, but they'd be daft.

Should we all be investing in Venezuelan oil now communism has been excised?

I must admit I only learned yesterday of Rachel’s 2% extra tax on savings coming in in 2027.

Anyone paying for care using interest from savings generated from the disposal of their home, just for f***ed.
