The sprays do no harm. We've got a cat, so I wouldn't dream of hurting them.

UPDATE (of sorts)
Had a reply e-mail from HOZELOCK who made apologies and said they would send out a replacement connector. It arrived today and is a replacement 'nipple' for the reel. Once it stops pi$$ing down, I will give it a try but I am not convinced that will solve the problem. Will update the thread with the result.

Fitted the replacement from Hozelock. Blew off. Have e-mailed Hozelock with appropriate comments (!!) Have now ordered a set of brass connectors in the hope that they resolve the issue. Looking at the advert for the brass ones, seems I am not the only one to have the plastic fittings blow off.
