Right i'll be starting construction at college in September hopefully, and my mum would like me to cement the front bit of garden we have. I haven't mixed any cement for about 3-4 years and forgot what ratio it is for water, sand, cement.

Thank you in advance,
Ben

Firstly, you are not going to "cement" anything. Stop calling it that now, it is sooooo DIY.

If you are doing a wall, then it's mortar/compo/muck. If you are doing a drive or paving, then its concrete.

Secondly ... what are you cementing?

Its a small part at the front of our house, its just a hole at the moment and cats keep crapping in it  so she wants it filled so she can put pots on it. :)

And sorry for calling it "Cement"...

Cement it with concrete, which you can make with 6 parts of all in ballast and 1 part of cement. Use enough water to make it workable without it being too runny. Good luck with the constuction course, is it an HND?

is this "hole" anywhere near a drain or water pipe?
