I get told "im a cowboy" why?

Always on hand to help. Just check though, I'm not sure wilkos have yellow fittings so aren't approved for gas. Lidl, on the other hand, have them and are about 39p cheaper too! While your there pick up some of there generic brand washing up liquid. (34p iirc) and you can check for the leaks too.

Whole job should cost you no more than £2 and 20 minutes labour. Charge them about £220 and you're laughing.

If you want a proper job, as I like to do, then get some 1/2" nail in clips. On 12m 3 should be enough and it will reduce the sagging and improve the gas flow.

If it's a range cooker then consider using 3/4" hose for the first 2m. Should help massively. Hard to get in yellow though but they do acrylic paint in the craft section for next to nothing.

Thanks Jon , I may just get the yellow paint for the wilkos fittings, I have some spare gas tape to hand so will put a few strips of that every 2.34 meters of hose just so it looks pro , I will only use 2 nail clips to keep cost to a minimum , and just to conform to regs I will use a push fit Iso valve for the Hob isolator , I'm not going to bother purging and checkingafter Install , as I know what I'm doing , thanks again for all of your help (y)

That sounds like the professional approach that I would expect. You are a credit to the trade.

Stay safe out there and remember... the cigarette won't light the gas escape but your lighter will so light it up before you enter the property!

But I look for gas leaks with my lighter ???? How else will I know where it's coming from ? , I've found loads of leaks in the past with a lighter , you can't go wrong ,,,,,,,

Lighters and fuel is expensive nowadays, you can't get more than 3 for a quid anymore. Like I said lidl generic brand washing up liquid for 34p will last you about 18 months. That's nearly 3 quid in Lighters!

Plus you get to keep your eyebrows.

Thanks for the advise , always looking for cheaper and professional ways to do a decent safe job (y), I did notice that pound land do proper gas certs aswell ,,,, I've never seen them before but there called a " note pad " very legit and very cost effective , you can just write what you want :)

i think the way some lads are on here is like they think there something special. Its not exactly hard to fit systems or change boilers or repair them but nowadays the changes make people think "costs a few quid to be reg gassafe" but really its just a money making thing ,corgi was something you could join if you wanted years ago now its made lads think there special
I've fitted boilers for 45 years and 25 years in that I wasn't qualified. I don't know if I killed anyone but I am so glad I am now qualified and can leave a job knowing and not guessing it is safe to use.
You sound like a nob to be honest.

OP you're clearly a troll, I did you the courtesy of helping and you just wasted my time and stuck 2 fingers up.
Btw Does this forum even have mods and what are the policies if any?

Just a tip Alan, always happy to help.:)

If you take the combustion chamber off you will need one of these, its a flue gas analyser (FGA)

Stick one up end your arse and the other in the boiler, if you detect CO (cowboy odour) then rectumfy the problem.
