I just spotted this broken tile on my roof and wondered if there was an easy way to fix it myself?

Should i worry at the moment?

picture attached hopefully.

Looks like an Acme sandfaced clay plain tile. Common.
It will be a very easy fix provided you have safe access.
no more than 30 seconds once you can reach it.

That sounds promising, I have plenty of old tiles that were left when we moved in.
As far as safety goes am i ok to just lay a ladder onto the roof or i have some old doors i could lay on before a ladder. pretty easy for me to get too.

Could you explain what i will need to do once i get access please?

You help is much appreciated datarebal

Basically take the old one out slip the new one in...
first pick up the broken bottom that you can see in your pic.
Then if you have a small trowel slip this under the tile piece that has been left behind. Then lift the trowel so as to raise the top of the broken tile and it's nibs clear of the batten it's hanging on and remove.
replacement is a reversal ..slide tile up under the tiles above until the nibs hook over.
Now, There is a slight possibility the damaged tile may be nailed in which case you will need to ease the nail out as well.
It's a lot easier than it sounds.

Access I wont advise on your safety.. it would be irresponsible of me.

.
isn`t it a 1 in 4 possibility ;) or do they nail less rows than that

Could be any variation,
even every tile two nails.. (
we have done this on BT exchanges in the past)
but I can see a couple of tail tail signs saying nails will not be a problem.
