I need a few pallets - best place to get them?

I need a few pallets for home use in the garage (basically to lift things off an occasionally damp floor until I get the time to fix it!)

What's the best bet? Go to a pallet supplier or scrounge some from delivery companies?

most of the decent ones are deposit paid / returnable jobbies.
Any big ish companies in your area who get stuff turn up on pallets will probably offload a couple to you, as long as they're not returnable ones

drive around the local business parks & ind ests....

They are usually piled into the skips.

Any 'new-build' housing round your way. All the bricks and blocks came on 'one-trip' pallets to the site near us and there were hundreds of pallets going begging until they had a big bonfire.
