I wish we had big Don in charge over here !

I suppose it is an old film now. It came out in the early 1990s. I avoided it at the cinema because I didn't actually like Bill Murray and I didn't rate Andie McDowell and the trailers made it look really naff. Then a year later my other half hired it on video, and to my surprise I loved it. She wasn't best pleased because I watched it again straight away. And then a third time before we returned it.

Saturday night, 'Blockbuster Video', bag of jellybeans. (y)

yeah if only Trump was in the UK............causing food prices to go up

Trump’s Immigration Threats Are Already Wrecking the Food Industry

Immigrant farm workers are too scared to show up to work.

Well, Well, Well: Trump Can’t Lower Egg Prices After All

Egg prices have hit an all-time high on the third day of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Trump voters are starting to find out that if you vote for hate, hate is what you get

buyers remorse has already begun

Have you ever thought of signing up to an American forum? I’m sure you have enough hate in you to repeat your bile elsewhere. Different time zones too so you could vent 24/7.

I feel sorry for Trump supporters, especially the Latinos and Hispanics, who might see their relatives deported.

You would think they would learn

This Trump voter is stunned to find her Syrian relatives deported

IMF forecast 1.6% growth in 2025
Tories managed 0.4% in 2023

Come on Justin let’s here your ideas on what Labour should do to create growth given what they inherited.

Well, taxing employers is a BAD idea.

Heathrow good, to be fair.

To be more productive you do more and better of what you're good at.

I could do a list.
but just take university education.. We're moaning that foreign students take the places and moan that they're needed to fund education for Brits. Moan moan moan.
OK so build some universities for foreign students, make them comfortable, charge like a rhino. It's effectively an Export. Do not let potential antagonists have access to certain areas of development and so on, but there's plenty left. Cambridge is great - ok I'm biased but it's known the world over, there's plenty of space, and there are already many satellite "colleges" full of decent staff.

On financial stuff there's masses. The first thing I'd do is remove the tax on investing in British companies, it's stupid.
Better to run a hedged dollar account and support US ones.

We're moaning that foreign students take the places and moan that they're needed to fund education for Brits. Moan moan moan.
The only moaning I’ve heard is people hating high immigration a lot of which is wealthy students coming here to pay high Uni fees

OK so build some universities for foreign students,
Whose gonna pay for that.

The problem with U.K. education is that it’s effectively privatised…..I think this is a major reason for low productivity in this country….we aren’t getting people into Uni to do vocational degrees because they are put off by the massive cost and when they do go the quality of education is not good enough.

We have 750,000 people who can’t work because they are waiting on an NHS waiting list.

Is that good for the economy?
?? Non sequitur. Not addressing one issue , doesn't justify doing something else that's daft.

You don't have to give them family residency rights etc. Separate issue. Foreign students are taken in for their money, at the expense of places for
natives.
Whose gonna pay for that.
Fairly easy case to get private sector involved. Existing assets could be used, as a start. There's a bunch of non-affiliated places, institutes etc.
She went to Fitzwilliam.
Cool place.
