I think we can clearly see from the lefty view of this that they really do not give a damn over this lady who got fatally shot. It looks like a typical hate campaign against Trump and ICE because of what they stand for and for what they are doing. I find it tragic that she had to die for her own beliefs and her actions which were ridiculous and irresponsible even to the point of suicidal. The ICE agent may well have been a little trigger happy but fully understandable in the circumstances and the course of events. The uproar isn't about the topic at all and the legality of the shooting, We are reading bizarre comments of what is wrong with "parking in the middle of the road" What harm was she doing? When you can clearly see that this pair of women had been irritating and making a nuisance of themselves all day and probably before this day too. She completely refused to do anything as directed by the agents and ignored them, she then accelerated towards the agent who was in her direct path. He shot her and unfortunately she died from her injuries. Nothing wrong with his actions, he was within his rights to shoot her and took the shots in good faith.
I actually think that if, like me, you are willing to step back and look at this tragic event objectively, some important issues are highlighted.
In the USA, under the First Amendment, it is legal to protest peacefully. This includes recording or videoing law enforcement. That is what Renee's wife, Becca, was doing that day. In addition, chanting, beeping horns and blowing whistles have all been found to be lawful. Law enforcement might find it irritating and a nuisance, but it is all completely legal.
Turning to Renee, herself. She was parked across one lane of a two lane one way street. We can see from the videos that nobody was blocked or obstructed. In particular, the ICE agents were not obstructed, because their operation was being conducted more than a hundred yards away. We have still had no specifics about how the ICE agents believe Renee was obstructing them or attempting to obstruct them.
It is very likely that she was committing a minor traffic offence. It is important to understand that federal agents have no powers to enforce traffic offences. Because these are state/local offences, rather than federal offences. If local police had turned up and asked Renee to move, that would be a different matter. This highlights the different roles and powers of federal and state/local law enforcement.
