My boiler is 10 years old and until a year ago no problems with the therm harness. It has been replaced twice, most recently in September, and now looks like it's failing again. Why should it keep doing this? Is it a faulty batch of harness kits or is the boiler at fault?

Any ideas please.

British gas RD1 ?
If so you will find that there will be a circulation problem on the system causing flow/return thermistors to go out of banding. Get your installer/engineer to check differential temperature when on heating and hw individually and together.

Yes that's the b***er.

The pump keeps going and it ignites once in a while for a minute or so then goes out again. Does this fit with your diagnosis shambolic?

I spoke to my engineer and he said that explanation makes sense as I have a gravity fed system and not fully pumped. Most of the broblems I have had before this one stem from blockages in the system which fits in with not enough pressure.

It sounds like a day's work and £500 to get it pumped or get a new boiler.

Thanks very much for your advice.
