Ideal Boilers

Report:- boiler not working, was doing heating but no hot water.
Inspects boiler not working at all, showing code 3, looks in the book faulty fan speed sensor (its part of the fan) so of for a new fan and fitted to boiler, so now fan runs up to speed htg. working. Now no hot water, looks inside boiler at water turbine, small red led on water inlet flashing (not constant red)

So it has to be changed, ok 17mm spanner too small 18mm too big, can't get in with adj spanner its behind the pump. Book says take out pump assm. and pipework etc..... or take out fan and gas valve assm. there is a hole in the combustion chamber bottom where you can get a socket through.
So nips home for socket set, yep only socket that will gone on is
11/16 whit. but, the nut on the reed housing is not quite square, so socket will not grip.

Thinks about this, over to our garage peeps, you must have rounded nuts to get off sometimes? what do you guys do?.
We use BOC (oxy accet) but try this socket set, its one with "multisplines" in the socket head, you may have to tap it on with the hammer and take it from there.

So back on site, 18mm will get near, taps it on with hammer, try to undo nut, it's tight.... I mean tight, finally it moves, new one fitted, fan assm put back, (comes out v easy). trys boiler constant red light & hot water working.

Having now worked on one, not too bad, have seen far worse things!!!!
