Hmm, had another listen, sounds like the pump, could it be air in it?

have you checked its not one of the pump valves? turn the valve one way or the other to see if it stops.

Take pump off and flush through with water in case debris is in it.

I take it the system filled up ok after replacing the 3 port valve? Water and/or air out of all upstairs rads?

Yep, water filled up all, all rads bled, will try take pump off and flush. There is a switch on the pump, with three marks, speed ? if i put it on the lowest setting the noise stops.
