Ideal Classic FF260 - Up the Swanney?

Hi, I am after some advice regarding an Ideal Classic which has gone cold... All was OK 'till last night when after investigation I discovered the boiler will not start up unless the gas has been tuned off and the pilot light goes out. When its stone cold, it will fire up straight away and run for 20 minutes or so, untill it turns off and will not restart.

Any ideas?

Could be several things inc a sticking gas valve which only works when cold, or pcb ditto, or pilot. Not likely to be DIY fixable.

Thanks for that ChrisR. I just wanted as much advice as possible to decide whether a new bathroom budget has to include a new boiler!
