Cheak there is 200vdc across black & blue on gas valve when sparking, also test for 240v at spark gen. most likely a faulty ignition electrode or spk gen.

you are going to replace every part the way you are goin
you need to fault find not chuck parts at it
there loads of faults that cause l f

If it hasn't been regularly serviced, I would remove the trap and clean it, along with the sump. Also check your condensate drain is not blocked somewhere.

Forgot to mention, the first thing I did was check and clean the S trap - which was clear, but I still gave it a flush out with water.

Thanks everyone,
just fitted the new ignition electrode kit, turned boiler on, pressed reset and yes we have hot water and heat again.

:D Cheers

have you checked the CO2 setting with your analyser? have you checked the gas rate? how about the condition of the heat exchanger and the critical seals ? the case seal? if you answer no to any of this i suggest you get someone qualified to do this for you.

Next time you have a pain in your stomach, will you go on a medical site for advice on how to remove your own appendix?

I sincerely hope we do not have to read about the death of you or your family from CO poisoning due to a complete muppet messing about with your boiler just to save a few quid.
