Hi there
Ive an ideal icos system boiler
It came up with fault code H1
THIS should be either the Termister or the PCB Board.
The gas man changed both but it still comes up with H1
Both new parts are in working order.
Any idea now why its not working still

Was the thermistor checked with a multimeter, or was it guessed thermistor and pcb? Has wiring been checked?

Is the error H1 or H1. (. A dot after indicates a short). This is often the case with these boilers. Check ionisation probe cable. Often cable shorts on casing

SNB yes it does have a Dot after the H1 Code
H1. So will have to check tif theres something shorting out there etc. Does seem strange that its not mentioned in the Boiler manuel with the other fault problems in there

It won't be as that info is restricted for those of us who do this for a living!

Well its still not working.
Gasman has put new thermister tried a new PC board checked all cables etc and Probes etc all those things are good but its still showing H1.
The thing is when he presses reset it doesnt seem to go through any sort of reset it just comes up straight away with H1.
We even tried a new part with the reset button on etc. Were scratching our heads now. Anyone got a clue. This is very puzzeling

Did he set the board to match your boiler model? You can't just throw a board at these and hope, there's more to it than that

I’d be looking at electrical checks.

Yes the board as been put in as the old one to match. The poor blokes checked every cable possible it looks like one of those jobs that become a nightmare to tradesmen
God knows hes going to give Ideal a ring tomorrow to see if they have come accross this at all. If anyone else as a clue let us know we want to beat this

He may have checked every cable and harnesses, but has he checked using a multimeter?

CBW
Oh yes hes used a multimeter he knows how to use one of those for sure
