Hi,

I wonder if anyone can throw some light on a problem I have. My ideal boiler user control isn't working but the boiler still does. I have checked the PCB harness and this appears to be ok. I have tried a different user control and still not worked.

I was wondering if the user control has shorted part of the PCB as the right side of the boiler has white deposits around the pipe above. I have read this is a common fault with ideal icos boilers. I have tested the connection off the PCB and it isn't showing any voltage when switched on.

Is this right? Has anyone come across this? Is the PCB possibly damaged? Just strange the boiler still works.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

The display board gets it's info and power from the little connector card poking out from the PCB. If that's water damaged/corroded then it will need a new main PCB.

The boiler works still because the display board just shows what the boiler is doing, it's not a functional part of the PCB as such.

Thanks for the reply.
I haven't investigated any leak yet but is there a fix or particular point it leaks from? It's so I can try and sort it so I don't have to replace the PCB again.
