I have just been on holiday and come back to no central heating although the hot water is working fine. I was wondering if this could be due to the pressure gauge only showing under 1? When my boiler was fitted the engineer showed me how to increase the pressure by connecting the pipe but I have forgotten how - does anyone know?? I have looked it up on here and I presume that one end gets screwed onto the thread under one of the pipes with a blue tap on but where does the other end go????

there are only two pipes with threads on and they both have blue taps, i have tried connecting the pipe to both of them and turning both taps on but nothing happens - can anyone please help - as you can tell I am a complete novice at all this :?

If you have hot water then low pressure is not the fault as the boiler works.Make sure that your heating controls are all calling for heat,ie timer room stat etc.If it does not respond then you may have a fault with these external controls or an internal boiler fault. As you admit to being a novice I would be wary about opening up these boilers.A good engineer should find this fault in 30 mins.

thank you very much for that - after I posted that message I found that there is not water running through the hot water taps at all, although there is water running through the cold water taps - could this be pressure I was wondering?
