My ideal boilers heat exchanger keeps getting blocked and causes the rads and hot water to only get luke warm, But the boiler is constantly burning at full pelt. it blocks up with black soot and i was told to install a bigger air vent which i did but this did not cure the problem. ANY IDEAS :(

Are they cleaning out the burner properly , ake sure you keep the gauze at the front clear from fluff as this will restict the air flow.
It aybe the injector has worn causing the burner to burn in correctly
How often does it soot up

I have a contract with a large corgi firm they told me to do air vents and are coming back. I just wanted to do a bit of researce myself, As it has not solved the problem. Thanks for that. :)

Hi Namsag, thanks for that i think what you say makes alot of sense as we had the exchanger cleaned on saturday and it was as bad as ever by tuesday. Heat was hot on saturday afternoon so was cleaned as said. maybe not cleaning it properly though!

don't use it until you've had it sorted.
if its sooting up that quick it must be pumping out copious amounts of Carbon Monoxide.

Fek something serious is being missed there then , get it OFF straight away

Gas valve, burner pressure and checking gas rates comes to mind.
Back to basics me ffinks.
