Hi guys

Hopefully you can help me :)

I noticed a few days ago that it was freezing cold in the house and the heating wasnt on only my thermostat was saying it was, so went to the boiler and checked only to find it was dead as a door nail, after reading the instructions in the hood on how to relight it it all fired back up and i put it down to a 1 off glitch.

couple of times since it has done the same, it seems that the pilot light goes on and it all fires up fine, and even if you turn everything off the pilot light stays lit and it will all fire back up again while you watch it, but then randomly it seems to decide to go out when left for a while once the heating is off, so i find myself waking up this morning to a freezing cold house again and having to manually light it.

Is there a straightforward part i need to replace or am i going to have to bite the bullet and get a plumber? im pretty handy so if its something i can fix first i would much rather that.

Thanks in advance :)

Leon

Sounds like the thermocouple is on its way out, get a RGI in to fix it.

Thanks for the info so far, what sort of cost including labour do you think its going to cost? (ish)

the problem has progressed!

Now after firing it up manually it all stays lit with central heating and water on full blast then after about 15 mins without fail it all just goes off!

Please help :/
