Hi, having an problem with a 10 year old ideal mini s24. Boiler is firing up and heating radiators and hot water as usual and firing down when thermostat is turned down or hot water turned off, but boiler does not power off. I would be grateful of any thoughts. Thanks.

So, to be clear, it works as normal, but there’s still power to it? It needs the power to it for it to work, otherwise you’ll be turning it on and off unnecessarily.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for not being clear. The boiler is working, heating and water. Once the thermostat is turned down the heating turns off, but the the boiler sounds like it is still running, like the fan and/or pump are still working, the only way to stop it is to turn the dial to the off position on the boiler.

Have you given it chance to stop? The way it works is you heat water up int the boiler, but it needs to dissipate the heat once finished, so it has a built in over-run to protect the boiler from overheat damage, whereby the pump and fan will continue to run for a set period.

Hi, thanks again for your reply. I have, it will continue to run for hours without turning off. Before this, it would shut off within a few minutes of thermostat kicking in or the water timer finishing.
