Hi,

Plastic part inside an iflo trv has snapped.
I can't seem to find a matching head in the Internet. Can anyone recommend a replacement head so I don't have to change the whole valve?

Thanks!

Brilliant, thanks.

Assume they should just have a more modern head that should be a straight swap?

Hi @wedge69 , I've got the same TRV with the same failure as you described. Did you manage to find a matching head from City Plumbing? I'm planning on paying them a visit in a few days to get a replacement valve (although hopefully I can just replace the head)

I think City Plumbing are dwindling down their Iflo range. Sometimes you can get away with another manufacturers head, but probably easier to change the complete valve.

As iFlo heads fail, I replace with any reputable make and always to good effect. Just a week ago I swapped a failed iFlo with a Drayton and left a fully functioning TRV and my wife smiling

Nearly all readily available TRV's have the same body thread and that is the main point when replacing failed heads

Hey, thanks for the replies and advice! In the end I popped down to a City Plumbing yesterday with the old head, and they sold me a Plumbright Angled TRV White 15mm X 12.7mm C04167N032B (Product Code 709151) as it was the closest matching thing they could find.

In the end it fits, and comparing the valve bodies, they're clearly the same, even if the heads are slightly different. So as @Scally-Ho pointed it, most TRVs probably have the same valve body, so that's the part worth checking when doing a head swap. And if I ever need/want to do a full valve swap in the future, I have those bits left aside just in case!
