igniton cables

I'm embarressed, My 1997(toolbox) escort estate has an 1800 cc zetec engine. I want to check/ renew spark plugs. Thing is I cant see how the damn ignition cable clips off the spark plug. New to me. Any tips please on how these cables dissconect from spark plug. Do I twist and pull or ??

If I remember rightly the cover cap for the spark plug is metal and goes into the head /block I believe its a pull off just twisting from side to side to ease it off, my wife had the z tec engine on her escort years ago so its purely from what i think i remember.

First one took me an hour to prise off used pump pliars in the end, they were a really tight fit.
Shows How long its been since I changed a plug Really did'nt expect those cover/connectors to be 3" long
