No doubt they will. They may be already from the various studies that are going on. That has loosely established that they reduce transmission rates.

I have heard it repeated several times, that it does reduce transmission - common sense suggests that it must, without checking figures....

If we accept it drastically reduces the chances of catching it, then it follows that the chances of passing it on must be similarly reduced quite drastically.

It's more than that as it is now illegal to employ someone in the NHS who has a patient facing role after 1st April. That's why it has been enshrined in law, the NHS can rely on it to dismiss or redeploy people.

Agreed it is difficult for other organisations as there may be a case for constructive dismissal.
Has it actually been passed by parliament yet ? was meant to be 6th of jan

Logic would suggest the opposite.

How would you know if your are positive if your vaccination is keeping you from being symptomatic?

They visit groups of people and monitor what goes on. Families from what I can gather and monitor people. Covid infections crop up at times and they see what happens to the other people. From memory they reckon a ~30% reduction. It's in the vaccination effectiveness report which is about on the web.

I've wondered about an increase in asymptotics however with Delta far more people reported having symptoms.

There is other info around that doesn't exactly back this factor up but early days

Anyway. In theory at least a more rapid immune response will cut down re infection for all.

The R value hasn't been established yet for a sufficient length of time. Also Omicron is seen as being more infective. Symptoms too - have to wait and see. That will take a few weeks.

Andy's mates have joined up and called themselves something like Alpha Men - antivaxers and few other things. C4 filmed some being trained by an ex military man. Must be related to Andy as the group were in what loosely be called Enoch's area. More here

I happened to catch that, total nutters the lot of them. Mob rule gone mad. That poor woman in the council office, faced with a mob like that.

Imagine being faced with some looney who claims he can't pay his council tax because he thinks he was born a panda. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Pencil pushers, eh? What do they know? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's rather difficult to understand where the idea that covid is a hoax aimed at people control comes from. ;) One of those stopped their car and told my wife that. She was wearing a mask. She has also had comments from people passing by who think it's over or similar. There was a guy on the box very recently with specific problems who said when we had covid. The comment crops up now and again. People get mixed messages.

People control is easier to understand. Gov's make laws. ;) One annoys me, the party wall act but only because a simpler fairer one could be used.

The clip mentioned social workers breaking up families. The area they find hard to get right so it tends to go in cycles. Doing too much and not enough, Sometimes they will get it wrong.

Common law police. Alpha Men with various loose screws. One was into baiting paedophiles on the web. Seems to be a few women about too. Alpha suggests they are pack leaders. Tough etc and probably why some one dreamed it up. What is that particular person at really?

Alpha Men use an encrypted social media service. How many other fundamentally undesirable groups do? So far this lot seem to have ~7,000 members. Various crime groups use encrypted web services. Personal privacy is one thing but in real terms for many people a bit of joke on the web.

The C4 presenter's final comment is that they may be criticised for broadcasting it all. Tricky one as some times in an odd sort of way news is suppressed in various ways. It can also make some things look more prevalent than they actually are or highlight things that have always been going on.

Re. the proposed sacking of unvaccinated NHS workers: What kind of termination of employment will they be given? Are they to be made redundant with a payout and notice period; or are they to be instantly dismissed with no recompense as if they had committed a regualr sacking offence?

Has this been discussed?

Looks like no payouts planned.

“Employers will not be concerned with finding ‘suitable alternative employment’ and there will be no redundancy entitlements, including payments, whether statutory or contractual, triggered by this process."

Doesn't really match the press article. Step 2 has quite a lot of guidance for suitable alternative roles. But it does look like capability based dismissal. Your unvaccinated status means you can no longer perform your role. That doesn't mean it will stick if they sack people, as I said earlier its not a slam dunk.

It's the law. The NHS cannot legally employee someone in a patient facing role after 1st April. Seems like a slam dunk to me.

"The redeployment or dismissal of workers is determined by the introduction of the regulations and an individual’s decision to remain unvaccinated."

They are claiming that employees are, in effect, making themselves redundant by refusing the vaccine.
