but if i pass the ball to a teammate who is after their last defender, then it's offside.... but what if i am also after their last defender.... (as in the german goal tonight)... isn't that offside?

You cannot be offside if you are behind the player with the ball when he passes it to you irrespective of where the f*** the defence have gone to let 2 players behind them
