At the moment Id say between 5& 8 000 a year. Most of my work as about town. Possibly as far north as Braintree

Are you actually looking for a van now as opposed to a transformer vehicle that can turn into a family run-about?

I wouldn't say an electric van is of any use to a tradesman unless you are working within a few streets of your house doing very low miles per day.

There is so much to consider. But yes
Sell the jucy Honda.
Get a van thats good for work.
Yet is good for the family and the Dogs.

My eldest is 17 next year. I coukd then buy a small town car thats not too big for her, thst I could use if need be.

In favour of the Diesel. Every other sunday my youngest will be playing away games.

Thats will be Colchester, Clacton. Southend ect ect.
Will be playing Tigers up the road from you in November . So will do a few miles Every other sunday.

No, it's a derogatory term for leccy vehicles. Meaning they have all the automotive appeal of something like a dishwasher or tumble drier.

I like the Nissan
I can get a lengthy 5 year warranty.

Its more the price of Diesel in comparison to Electric or even Petrol in the next 5-10 years.


Id have to accept that the van could be worthless in 5 years time. That wouldn't matter as long as its still running strong and I can afford to fill it up.

Buying used diesel i just think would give me problems.
All be it they fo still hold their value.

Whether EVs are the future or not goodness knows. However one thing that's true is they do sound like milk floats

I have great experience of EVs having owned two of them, still have one of them. The initial specs on paper sound great, the reality is very different. Small milage around town driving and they make sense, try going any distance where you need to charge them during the journey and you quickly lose interest in them and the buyers remorse kicks in. Even charging them at home is a pain in the arris if you have more than one car on your drive, it was like playing musical chairs on the drive with cars shuffling about jostling for the pole position of the charger..
