Please can somebody advise I have just moved into a flat all electric the hot water switch that runs all night does come on however the water remains cold is this something we can control or is it broken the booster works perfectly very hot water very quickly

How many elements has your cylinder got, 1 or 2?

Two I believe one at the top and one nearer the bottom of the immersion.

The top one is the boost element, which seems OK.

If there is power reaching the main bottom element, and its doing nothing, its likely to need replacing.

If you live in an area with hard water, make sure that whoever replaces it puts one suitable for aggressive water.
