Hello

I have an 'airing' cupboard which used to house the immersion heater before it was removed and a combi boiler installed in another location.

There is an immersion heater socket thing with an on/off switch only. Is is possible/legal to change this to a regular plug socket? If so, is this something for a home DIYer or should a professional be employed to do it?

Thanks

Hello

It is a walk in cupboard unto itself and is located upstairs, next to the bathroom.

Hello

I had thought it might be useful for the vacuum, but primarily as an option for a broadband router.

Cheers

Jack you will probably find this radial circuit is served by a 15 amp fuse?

Find out what size the conductors are on it and one of us can take it further with you.

Why is everyone making such a big deal here? if it was fine for an imersion heater it will be fine for a socket too.

Even if it were a 32A radial on 4/6mm², it would still be fine for a socket outlet. Overkill, but fine nonetheless.
