Immersion timer

Hi, this is my first post and would like to know if I can use this timer socket to control my immersion heater?

The timer is rated at 13A. If I remove the fused outlet and install a socket, put a 13A fused plug on the immersion lead
will this be Ok. The feed to the fused outlet is from a seperate MCB on the consumer unit.

It's better to buy a purpose made immersion timer for this application - they are specifically made to work in the warm airing cupboard environment , and cost around twenty pounds to buy from a DIY shed.

They are connected into the cable between fused connection unit and the element, and can be set accordingly.
