This Indian woman on question time claimed that immigrants built this country.

I thought why on earth would you put your name to that.
Houses back in the 50s, especially LA stock, were more solidly built than today's shacks.

You only have to go on YT to see examples of badly built houses today. They are dreadful.

Back on topic, Liverpool has a huge irish ancestry population. There was massive immigration during the 18th and 19th century.

Shes a dual national, neither of which are Indian. Which is why I'm so confused by your statements.

Who said that this country was built by immigrants? Was there another person on QT saying it, in which case how do you know their nationality?
Shes not Indian. South American born in
British Guiana. Thats no where near India.

So true, but that was because of the choice of materials available at the time.

My advise to anyone is buy a 1950s 60s house. 70s up and they get worse and worse.

Between 1841 and 1931, three quarters of a million Scots settled in the rest of the United Kingdom. Rural Scots moved to the industrial cities of Scotland and England. Many Scots moved to England as they had skills that could be used in farming and industry there.

Secure - I’ll contribute to the digression.

Why do you think that they’re dreadful?

Just because you’ve seen a few videos, highlighting failures for views, doesn’t mean all new houses are dreadful.

Yes - they aren’t built as strong as the older houses, but that is a different story.

TBH - I wouldn’t mind living in a new build. The warranties, efficiency and the lovely “future proofing”, etc.

I wouldn't touch them with your Barge poll.
The insulation is about the only good thing about 9999999999999999o999.9% of them.

Your right not all are bad

NHBC warranties?

Might as well use them to wipe your botty on!

I knew a couple of people with new houses with snagging issues and NHBC would not honour the warranties.

My times in Hospital I think the Indian nurses stick out as being the most compassionate and good at their job.

Lots of nurses that wasn't.
My inside contact has always said all of them were great hard working nurses in some ways it was wrong to head hunt them from their own country but they have gone back with new skills and enriched their own healthcare sector

My Mate has gone through his two years training as a doctor
at his designated hospitals. Hes not sure from where now but like take his skills to either The US Australia or Isreal.

Our training us the best. Then we lose them.

Also the non UK nurses tend not stay very long at 1 hospital (except the Indian ones ) as they like to go for the big London ones for even more feathers under their cap before they then go back home to a job promotion from working in the NHS.

Interesting.

Why wouldn’t you?

So, apart from insulation, what are things that are not as good as in older houses?
Your right not all are bad
Indeed, the mere highlighting of relatively minor deficiencies in newer houses does not, by itself, substantiate the conclusion that one should eschew new builds altogether.
