Hi, I'm looking for a bit of advice. i have a cellar under my house that is about 5 and a half feet high and the cellar has a soill solum. I'd like to increase this to about 6 ft 2 so i could stand up in it and use it as a work shop. I've dug a small pit down to see how far the found goes down ,then dug down about 150mm below the found as this would be the depth i would need to take it down to then fill back up with concrete. Can i just dig the whole basement out 150mm deeper than the found then fill it back up with concrete then build a block wall round the exposed found to support it or will my house fall down if i do this. I'm just lookig for advice just now to see if it will be practical to do this.
the house is a detached 1930s bungalow.
