Indesit IWDD7143 heater element query

I recently had the dryer element changed and it has gone faulty again. So, I was wondering whether the washer dryer can be used only for washing. The issue I have is that the washing machine does not come on unless it has the dryer element working I assume it goes through some self checks before hand. I noticed that F15 shows even on a washing cycle when the dryer element is faulty.

Is it possible to bypass the dryer element so that the washer dryer can be used for washing only.

Have you checked that it is actually the element that is faulty?
