Indesit W123 broken door lock

Help!
We've obviously been eating too much spinach as the hadle has brokn off when we tried to open it leaving a load of nappies stuck inside.
I've tried a screwdriver to pull the wire up that I can see but it doesn't seem to work.
The handle is on the right side of the machine.
Any help gratefully received

Piece of string. Feed it in the door and around to the opposite side of the handle. Pull back and the door will open.
New handle kit required to repair.

If you're good at jigsaw puzzles then the answer is yes.
Not sure about your model but straight forward job.
In the meantime, feed your piece of string behind the door handle, around the lock and you'll be able to use and open the machine till you get the handle kit.
