Indesit W123 - Makes Strange Noise During Spin Cycle

Recently my Indesit W123 washing machine began making an amplified noise whilst doing a spin cycle.

The normal sound that the machine made during a spin cycle has been amplified by around 10x.

I moved the washing machine from its usual resting place and found a couple of drops of oil on floor. So I'm guessing something has gone, but what?

Could anyone make a suggestion as to what this might be? Do you think it would be something relatively easy or would I be better off getting professional help? Or for that matter just going out and buying a new one?

oil on the floor would suggest bearings to me

having said that i'm only a thick plumber .best wait for breezer or fido

i agree with kevplumb, bearings have gone, its not a diy job, get several quotes v new m/c
