Just wondered if anyone used an induction heater to split copper joints ? 15mm

Don't want to be waying a flame around if I can help it

I guess it could be used, only thing that would concern me would be the temps. A copper pipe doesn't really need to go red/white hot for soldering, which I believe is typical with induction. It seems to be more directed towards brazing, rather than soldering due to the high temps.

Pipemaster make one that is reasonably priced for an induction heater. Amazon are the best for delivered price.
However, a small well controlled flame is much better IMO.

That isn't an induction heater! Its a copy of an ANTEX device that was originally made in the 90s. Its essentially two soldering irons joined together & the soldering iron 'tips' replaced by a bigger head block with a semi circle cutout. They have heads for both 15mm & 22mm pipe. I still have one.... somewhere.
