Inset sink fitting.

Have just purchased a new ceramic basin for the bathroom, which is designed to sit on/in a worktop (like a kitchen sink).

There are no clips or attachments to secure the basin to the underside of the worktop (as you would find on a standard kitchen sink). Now, how would I go about fixing the basin to the worktop?

On the underside of the basin there is a recessed channel, which i assume is for a sealant strip. One would assume that the sealant would fill the channel, but would this be enough to 'Keep' the basin in position

Any constructive advice would be appreciated

Use a good quality silicone.

So, I am right in saying that once the hole has been cut in the worktop, that a ring of good quality silicon is ran round the perimiter, so when the basin is offered up to the worktop that the silicone glues & seals the channel on the underside of the basin to the worktop ???

Sounds like you`re spot on and if you put masking tape round where you don`t want the silicon to go.then smooth with a finger, and whip the tape off immediately.job`s a goodun
