Hi guys

been giving the run around by a few companies, so was thinking of having a go myself, currently there is a old securit 700L all wired up,

How easy is it to wire in a new alarm?

any installers in the glasgow area?

Fairly easy with a little preparation.

Isolate mains to old panel, test this, do not assume. Mains electricity can kill.
Open old panel and label all the cables you see, so Zone 1 for instance its power cores and its tamper cores. Do so for all zones.
Identify the bell cable and its core functions.
Identify the internal sounder cable and its core functions.
At this time the external bells will be ringing if all is well, get a ladder and if safe remove bell triggers and standby battery.

Fit new panel and rebuild it with the marked cables.
Power up and close lids.
Rebuild external bell.
Now program the system, all should be well assuming the cables and existing peripherals are in good working order.

Well done, job finished.
