We have got a new dual fuel cooker, and are going to get it installed by an electrician. We have run some 6mm cable behind our cupboards(to save time), up to the consumer unit, and up through the worktop(both ends are not connected). We have a 45 amp socket(cooker switch(32A), and a normal 13 amp socket) ready to be installed. Now as far as I am aware, can the lead be run from the cooker to the socket, then the wire from the consumer box run to the socket. We have had an electrician come in, and he has said that we need another outlet box for the cooker. Is that correct, or is he trying to con us?
