hello and thanks to all that answer,
just wondering what is involved in the testing of new installations.Tried googling but just get lost in a world of web!! any good links or somebody with time to explain in any amount of detail would be great. thanks p.s i've got one of these!!!

No. To have half of one of these, you wouldn't have missed a "[" off the code!! You must have a quarter of one of these...:lol:

As long as you don't make a mistake and apply 240V to it, yes!!
 
wont be doing that!! what tests do domestic electricians do? i'm happy with insulation and continuity testing even mega-ing, but on aircraft wiring with set limits, how do you test domestic instalations.
 
Well, IR, continuity, loop tests, and RCD testing covers most of it.

You need more than your kit to do all of the above.
 
If you can lay your hands on a template for an Installation Completion Report, you will see what you have to find to fill it in.

I may have a soft copy somewhere.

Edit, or buy a copy of the On-Site Guide (OSG) and it will be very useful to you.
