Here's a silly question but when installing a stone resin quadrant shower base onto a marine plywood with a Sand/cement mortar base; then how do you physically place the shower base onto the cement base, as the base is very heavy and there is nothing to grip onto.

I know it sounds silly but you can't slide the base onto mortar bed and as it will displace it all.

Does the question make sense, go on someone must know a good trick to do it.

I normally stand the shower up on it's end in the corner, lay the bed of sand and cement with a large notched trowel, then gently lower the shower base down on to the cement, pushing it into the corner. Check with level both ways and if neccessary rock the shower base from side to side to get the correct level. Obviously this means that there is no cement under the very back of the base but it's unlikely that someone is gonna stand on it along the edge. Havn't lost one yet anyway. Hope that helps

use the plastic banding that comes round everything nowadays, 2 bits under the tray and held above like handles, lower the tray into place and slide the plastic out, job done!!
