Installing an open fire

Thanks very much. It's not as efficient as the burner I know but it does a lot to heat the room up and I've not felt any of this "sucking all of the heat out of the room" people often mention. With a bit of apple wood on there it's brill.

Only the roofer will be able to tell if the mid-feathers have really collapsed (as I'm too much of a wimp to go up there). I'm just hoping they haven't (based on how I've seen the smoke behave) and that I can just have a taller pot put on.
